Abstract :
A simple resource allocation strategy depending on BER requirements is proposed for IDM-based wireless transmission systems. It is shown that by combining application-dependent layer-wise power allocation with a reliability-based retransmission criterion a throughput gain can be achieved while the BER requirements of different applications are fulfilled.
