Abstract
Magnetic and magnetooptical properties of amorphous Nix Y 1-x were studied through Kerr effect measurements. Ni0.91Y0.09 has an ordered magnetic state at room temperature. This indicates the presence of small areas with higher Ni concentration. The existence of two different ferromagnetically ordered phases was inferred from the results
