Abstract :
The foundry business model of integrated circuit manufacturing involves focused development of semiconductor processes and manufacturing technology by foundries, to serve the needs of innovative IC designers who no longer wish to own some or even any of their own manufacturing facilities. It has created significant new opportunities for fabless semiconductor companies while opening new outsourcing opportunities for integrated device manufacturers.
