Abstract :
The development of a 275 kV gas-cooled, gas-insulated power transformer with a sound level ideal for an urban area, which depends on SF6 gas alone for both insulation and cooling, is described. The design philosophy, technical aspects, rating, and features of a 275 kV 30 MVA transformer are described, and the performance and long-term energization test results are discussed
