  • Abstract
    Field tests were undertaken to study transient overvoltages and overcurrents on 12.47 kV distribution line. The computer modeling and simulation of the field tests are examined. The adaptation and refinement of the transformer, load, and line models are described. Computer simulation of the field tests using the Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) gave results that are very close to the actual field tests. Also reported are results from a parametric study that were utilized to develop a simplified computer model
