Abstract :
This letter presents a novel method to calculate damping factor based delay margin which constructs correlation between signal transmission delay and interarea oscillation damping performance by translation operation in complex plane. It can be used to guide wide area damping controller design under the condition of given damping factor and required signal transmission delay.
