Abstract :
An iterative procedure is developed for estimating the domain of attraction of a class of nonlinear systems. The procedure uses an approximation of the system by a Carleman linearization and is suitable for automatic computations. The algorithm is applied to the transient stability problem in electrical power systems and a favorable comparison with previous criteria is obtained.
