Abstract
The recent implementation of an integrated computer network in Con Edison´s Manhattan Operations Control Center is described. The network enhances operations by providing operators with a common graphical user interface (GUI) on a single terminal to all computer systems. Electrical distribution operations and computer system support in operations are discussed. Network design, hardware selection, and GUI design and development are detailed. Communications and network infrastructure are described, and testing of the network and communications connections is discussed. System interface design, development, and installation, are discussed.<>
