Abstract :
A coaxial-fed dual-band bow-tie antenna with two arms printed on top and bottom of dielectric substrate of epsivgamma = 2.2 is proposed to operate at both the CDMA/GSM band ranging from 800-960 MHz and the 3G/WLAN band ranging from 1.7-2.5 GHz. The two arms of the bow-tie are overlapped to tune the two operation bands, and asymmetrical arms are designed to generate beam tilt as required in 3G/WLAN repeaters. The proposed bow-tie antenna is fabricated and tested. Both numerical simulations and measurements demonstrate the operation band with return loss below -10 dB, quasi-omnidirectional radiation characteristics, reasonable gain values, and beam tilt at GSM/CDMA and 3G/WLAN bands.
