Qualification of Class IE Equipment - An Approach

This paper attempts to elucidate the current status of the process implementing the qualification requirements of Class 1E equipment in Nuclear Power Industry. A summary of the developments in the recent past and identification of the problem areas in the in-dustry are provided. Further the efforts of a joint Utility/AE task force to scope these problems and develop a solution are presented with a view to sharing the benefits of this work with others in the industry.
