Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of coordinate transformations yielding partially (i.e. triangularly) decoupled canonical forms for bilinear state-pace descriptions. The conditions are found on the internal as well as on the external description, the latter being specified throughout a realizable formal power series.
