Abstract :
The author highlights the technical requirements for connecting parallel generators (PGs) to the Ontario Hydro (OH) distribution electricity system (DES) and discusses some applications related to contacting synchronous and induction generators to the DES. The connection requirements and protection requirements have been implemented while connecting PGs to the DES. Generally, the protection requirements for induction generators are much less complex than the requirements for synchronous generators. However, when connecting a PG to the DES, a stable point of connection (e.g. one with a minimum voltage and current unbalance between phases) is preferred
