Abstract :
The paper describes a current impulse-commutated ac triac chopper employed to obtain the optimum supply power factor correction for reactive loads. The resultant displacement and distortion factors of the supply and efficiency of the load are considered. Theoretical results are in excellent agreement with results obtained experimentally.
