Abstract
Several information processing configurations for hierarchical tracking and their performances are described in a concise manner, and the selection of one of them is discussed. It is shown that the performance of the "track-to-track fusion without memory" configuration, which, while suboptimal, is simple from the point of view of both computation and communication requirements, is remarkably close to the optimum
