Abstract :
A previously introduced split-operator reflection technique is adapted to near- and far-field calculations by inverting the operator ordering with respect to that presented in earlier publications. The method is used to examine reflection from an interface between two refractive index media with discontinuous index profiles. The method is further extended to arbitrarily polarized electric fields.<>
