Abstract
This article discusses the cleaning of vertical axis hydro generators with epoxy mica stator bar insulation using solvents. During the cleaning operation, the solvent mixture simply flows to the bottom and is easily recuperated by specially absorbing fabrics. Rotors are difficult to clean when not removed from the stator bar. Some areas can be done by hand. When the rotor is lifted, both the stator and the rotor become easy to clean manually with hand-held spray guns in which the cleaning solvent is fed with pressurized air.
