  • Abstract
    The technology of lighting has altered little since the early 20th Century. In this paper, the author describes advances in solid-state technology that could herald a revolution in the way buildings are lit, with the humble light-emitting diode (LED) making the application leap from power-on indicator to mainstream light source.
