Abstract
The application of error bursts to a 140-34 Mbit/s demultiplex is considered in the context of 100% density and the linear error propagation assumptions of CCITT Recommendation G.821. Theory, software, and hardware generated results show good agreement, and demonstrate that the CCITT linear assumption is only valid for error burst lengths of less than 1/3 of the frame length.
