Abstract
Presented are the transient characteristics of a tapered loop antenna fed by the composite right/left-handed coplanar waveguide-to-coplanar stripline balun. The antenna operates within 2.5-7.5 GHz and thus is suitable for ultra-wideband applications. The performance of the system comprising two identical tapered loop antennas is characterised by pulse radiation and reception. The fidelity of pulse response is presented to evaluate the signal distortion in the time domain
