Abstract
Rigorous solutions to photoemission for an exploding wire radiator source incident on Al and Au are presented for the first time. The solutions were obtained by solving a Boltzmann transport equation. The results are compared with magnetic spectrometer data by Bernstein and results deduced by Fromme, et al. from backbiased diode data. Except for the spectrometer data for Al, the measured results do not agree well with our calculations. Good agreement, however, is achieved between our results and published data for both photoemission using line sources and for electron backscatter.
