Abstract :

This correspondence calls attention to the misuse of the spectral radius of system matrices in stability analysis. It is demonstrated via examples that $\\Pi \\min{i=1}\\max {n} A_{i}$ may diverge even if $\\rho(A_{i}) < 1$ for all $i$ .
