Abstract
A procedure is derived for proper refocusing of a dielectric-filled Rotman lens with beam port locations determined according to Snell´s law. The theoretical performance of such a lens is compared with that of a conventional design at wide scan angle and the design equations for correct refocusing of the refracting lens derived. The approach provides an alternative lens configuration which may give a wider field of scan, at a given focal length, for lenses fabricated in microstrip or stripline. The presence of grating lobes in the lens is discussed
