Abstract :
Tc-99m PIPIDA (Sn) is a new hepatobiliary scintigraphic radiopharmaceutical derived from IDA by altering the lipophilic substituents on the HIDA ring. Utilizing a scintillation gamma camera and computer processed images, 10 patients with normal liver scans and liver function tests were evaluated to determine the transit time of Tc-99m PIPIDA from blood pool to bowel. The performance of Tc-99m PIPIDA in these studies indicates that this agent provides a significant means of evaluation of both physiologic function and anatomic structures of the hepatobiliary system.
