Abstract :
In this paper, we report on the scintillation and spectroscopic properties of YAG crystals activated with Pr3+ ions. The light yield of this material was found to be dependent on the level of activation. Best results are achieved for nominal Pr3+ concentration of 0.24 at.%. Spectroscopic results reveal effects readily explained in the frame of the recombinational model of YAG:Pr scintillation.
