Abstract
Detailed investigation of flow and heat transfer in revolving coolant conduits was made to establish the methd of prediction of required pump capacity and winding tempreratue. The non-dimensional parameters which govern the flows in essential parts of the coolant path are shown. They provide the designers with a method of design analysis having generality and physical, reasoning. Measurement of pressure drop and winding temperature in the rotor of a two-pole prototype generator confirmed the present prediction method.
