In memoriam: Kevin Francis Brennan

A brief biography of Kevin Francis Brennan is given highlighting his professional achievements. Since 1984, Kevin was the Byers Professor in Optical Networking at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Atlanta, GA, USA. As an example of the great respect that his colleagues had for him, he received Georgia Tech´s highest award in 2003, the Distinguished Professor of the Year. Excerpts from a published obituary are appended. He was elected to IEEE Fellow status posthumously.
