  • Abstract
Among corporate IEE members over 50, the largest field of employment is power engineering, followed by electronics manufacture: few under 35 are concerned with power, and about half are in other manufacturing and hardware, and three in four are in private-sector employment. An action committee has proposed how the IEE can satisfy the needs of the younger and midcareer membership through appropriate events based on the IEE Centres, in co-operation with local companies. Some examples are given of the industrial applications of electricity in manufacturing processes.<>
