Abstract
As a consequence of the development in the recent years of the Mexican 400 kV grid, the first two 400 kV cable installations in Mexico were carried out at Infernillo and Angostura Power Plants. In both installations self-contained oil-filled cables were chosen. After a general description of the plants, the cable and accessory design is discussed. Particular reference is made to laying problems, especially for the Angostura 130 m vertical shaft installation.
