Abstract :
Readout circuits based on multicorrelated double sampling (multi-CDS) have been successfully employed in the past with multi-element semiconductor detectors. However, the conventional multi-CDS technique can be employed when a synchronism signal is available. We present here a new integrated circuit, based on multi-CDS, which can be used also for the detection of random events in absence of synchronism signal. A first prototype of the circuit has been designed and the results of the experimental characterization are presented. Moreover, the criteria for the optimization of the weighting function of the filter for a given detection system are determined and discussed
