The 1975-76 IEEE Single-Phase Motor Calculation and Test Project

During the period October 1974 through May 1976, the Single Phase and Fractional Horsepower Subcommittee of the Rotating Machinery Committee of IEEE conducted a project to determine how well modern calculation methods can predict performance of a single- phase motor. The results of the project indicate that, for a two-speed PSC motor, the same calculation methods do not work equally well for the high and low speed connections.
