Abstract :
A servo controller is designed so that the step response of the plant is as close as possible to that of a model system while the output regulation condition is satisfied. The controller is named "the model-following servo" and its control law is determined by optimization. The associated algorithm is presented. An example is included to illustrate the procedure.
