Abstract :
Two types of 500KV Gas Spacer Cable(GSPC), a single- core type and three-core type and their accessories, rated at 6,000 - 12,000A, were developed. A full scale field test line of 500KV GSPC was constructed and long-term tests including forced cooling tests were carried out for about 1 year under overvoltage and various current conditions. The test results proved that GSPC has excellent performance and is applicable to practical use for bulk power transmission. This paper presents the test results obtained at factories and from long-term field tests.
