Abstract
This paper discusses an experiment on measuring the strain in vascular cell tissue. The resulting measurement technique used a slotted optical switch, a digital voltmeter and a reflector. Results from two runs were promising, and the repeatability was excellent. The technique is a truly inexpensive sensing scheme for micron-level measurements.
