Abstract :
In support of the CESR project, we have implemented a computer controlled interface system called the X-Bus. The development required the equivalent of three people working full time for a year. It has proven to be both economical and reliable. The X-Bus system has demonstrated its noise immunity for over a year in control of the linac, whose pulse forming networks are some of the worst noise sources in the laboratory.
