Abstract :
A lumped parameter model is used to represent a section of secondary distribution circuit. Subsequently an adjoint network is derived for the purpose of assessing the sensitivity of distribution power line carrier to variations in circuit height above ground, Multiconductor and unbalanced effects are taken into full consideration including the important influence of the non-perfect ground return path. In particular, for an example secondary distribution circuit, it is shown that over a range of frequencies relevant to the application of distribution power line carrier uncertainties related to circuit height above ground are, for practical purposes, inconsequential.
