Abstract :
An optical wavelength convertor has been successfully operated up to 1.5 Gbit/s. This wavelength conversion used a two-electrode DFB laser where an amplitude modulated (AM) input signal at 1.5171 mu m was converted into a frequency modulated (FM) output signal at 1.5136 mu m.
