Abstract
For pt.II see ibid., vol.5, no.5, p.44 et seq (1989). The authors report on their work concerning the development of several second generation programs. These include the following: (1) a program for plotting the response of a linear system to a unit step if either the transform function or a state-state description of the system are given. (2) a program for obtaining different types of frequency response plots from the transfer function of the forward path of a linear feedback system, which would also take into account the presence of transport lag in the system. (3) A program for designing a suitable compensator for a linear feedback system, given the transfer function of the plant and the specifications for the steady-state accuracy and the maximum magnitude of the frequency response of the closed-loop system. The authors have also developed a general purpose graph plotting program in Turbo-Pascal version 5.0. They report on the inclusion of this program with those developed earlier for the three programming objectives described above.<>
