Abstract
In this paper we consider a class of feedback operators for a linear differential difference equation of the neutral type. We show that if a system has unstable neutral root chains, any stabilizing feedback operator in this class must contain a derivative of the delayed state component. Under the assumption of exact controllability, we construct a stabilizing feedback operator.
