Abstract :
The authors demonstrate a strong polarisation dependence in the optical properties of GaInAsP/InP diluted multiple quantum well waveguides at 1.54 mu m wavelength, despite the weak birefringence of the quantum well material. The origins of this effect are discussed and compared to theoretical estimates.
