Abstract
Observation of four wave mixing (FWM) through the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) process in an all-fibre ring resonator is reported for the first time. The threshold for the generation of the anti-Stokes component was 12 mW, and conversion efficiency was 5%. A potential application of this process is in all-fibre generation of very high microwave frequencies.
