  • Abstract
This paper focuses on one of the environmentally-friendly coal-based generating technologies, the so-called integrated gasification combined-cycle (IGCC) process. This process implies the production of a synthetic gas which provides the fuel source to a gas turbine power plant operating in combined-cycle mode. The IGCC process features the inherent efficiency of combined-cycle operation, more straightforward carbon separation, and fuel flexibility including the use of biomass.
