Abstract
A system, at present under construction, has been developed to send the electron beam provided by a Dynamitron accelerator at 3 MeV and 15 mA through any one of three parallel vacuum lines, of which the central one is aligned with the outgoing beam from the accelerator. The system is chromatically corrected and thus gives point focusing for particles of different energies. Using two magnets which deflect through 270°, also with correction for chromatic aberration, the two lateral beams are shifted from the horizontal to the vertical direction; one of them serves as an x-ray source and the other as the source of an air electron beam with a sweep magnet. The principal uses of this equipment will be the disinfestation of grain, irradiation of plastics and radiation chemistry.
