  • Abstract
    The authors present a simple analysis, using first-order perturbation theory, to determine an equivalent rectangular rib optical waveguide that will model the propagation characteristics of a trapezoidal rib optical waveguide. The results obtained from this method show excellent agreement with the results from the more accurate finite element method
