Abstract
A Y-branch TE-TM mode splitter consisting of a proton-exchanged (PE) and a Ti-indiffused (TI) waveguide on z-cut LiNbO3 is analysed by the beam propagation method (BPM). This device was experimentally verified, and TE-TM mode splitting with an extinction ratio of 20 dB was obtained.
