Abstract :
The use of a high-speed data acquisition system (50 samples a second) to monitor load control is described. The system has proved extremely effective in evaluating the impact of load control. A methodology for detecting appliance starts within the high-speed data is described and given a preliminary test. This high-speed monitoring technology promise to be relatively inexpensive and highly reliable and to provide real-time information which can be used by power system operators to make decisions about load control actions
