Abstract :
The mathematical treatment of systems with slow and fast dynamics has traditionally involved singular perturbation theory for differential equations. This paper suggests a set of conditions to be placed on a frequency domain description of a system to guarantee two time scale behavior. Some basic stability and approximation results are presented.
