Abstract :
This investigative study examines an overvoltage incident that occurred during a routine scheduled maintenance operation on a 24.94 kV distribution network. With two phases remaining energized from a three-phase source, over- voltages were observed at the open-ended phase terminal of the underground cable, and the possible causes of overvoltage, such as switching transients, subharmonic oscillations, and ferroresonance, were investigated.
