Abstract :
Two kinds of two-dimensional (2-D) movement motors without thrust ripple are proposed. Both of them are the linear synchronous motors with windings for x and y direction and without armature core. One is the double-sided field pole type for large thrust and balanced force in x and y direction. The other is the single-sided type with the concentrated multilayer three-phase winding for little normal force. The single-sided type makes the holding of mover and production easy, but the thrust is about 0.3 times that of the double-sided type.
