Abstract :
A practical technique is presented for evaluating the reliability of cascaded radial and looped interconnected power systems using frequency and duration concepts. The modeling approach represents systems by positive and negative assisting subunits. The approach is explained using radial systems and a triangular structure system, and is illustrated using IEEE reliability test systems. A set of recursive formulae are presented for computing the cumulative probabilities and frequencies for parallel, series, generation complement and line complement operations
