Abstract :
We describe the experimental observation of acoustic resonance in a packaged all-fiber acoustooptic filter via acoustic radiation from the optical fiber to the air. The phenomenon has resulted in periodic decreases in the efficiency of the device with respect to temperature changes and wavelength tuning and could be eliminated by breaking the cylindrical symmetry of a metal tube package.
